Welcome to build with blocks and explore the old times kindergarten!
What was it like in the old days? What was done in kindergartens back in the day? What are Froebel's blocks? What small
tasks did children do in the kindergartens? What did the headmistress's office look like? You will find the answer to these and many
other mind-boggling questions at the Kindergarten Museum.
Come and play!
At the Kindergarten Museum, you can explore the 130-year history of kindergarten work. The museum opened its doors in 1998,
and the current permanent exhibition in 2009. The museum design emphasizes visitor engagement. Both children and adults will
enjoy visiting us!
The museum is located in the Ebeneser House, designed by architect Wivi Lönn, in Sörnäinen, Helsinki. Indications of the original purpose
of the house can be seen in the surrounding garden, the reliefs on the facade and the architectural solutions seen inside the house.
The Kindergarten Museum is open to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12 pm to 7 pm and at other times by reservation.
We accept private groups by prior reservations outside of opening hours for the public.
You can also book a private visiting time. For example, you can come with a family and friends. You can spend 1.5 hours in the museum with
your party on a private visit. The price for the visit is 20 euros. You can make a reservation by calling 050 307 7399 or by sending an e-mail to
museum's curator of education at fredrika.visuri (at) ebeneser.fi.
