Time Travel

Tools to strengthen children's and families' sense of inclusion and community

The Time Travel activities give early childhood education professionals tools to strengthen children's and families' inclusion and community spirit in child group work and joint family events. The activities utilize themed childhood memories from families and other materials created for the model.

The Time Travel activities did develop during the Time Travel project executed under the Ebeneser Foundation. As a result of the project, tools emerged for early childhood education professionals to strengthen children's and families' sense of inclusion and community in child group work and joint family events. To strengthen interactions between different generations, the activities also welcome grandparents to participate.

The project was part of the Emma&Elias program coordinated by the Central Union for Child Welfare and funded by the Funding Centre for Social Welfare and Health Organizations (STEA). The main goal of the project was to increase children’s social well-being through work that strengthens children’s sense of roots and identities.

You can get more information about the Time Travel activity model on the website of the Time Travel project. The website has a lot of material that is easy to use with a group of children, especially material for activities that connect different generations.
