The Ebeneser Foundation Grant
For early childhood education research
A grant for a student in the final stage of postgraduate studies to do a thesis to support research related to early childhood education.
Background of the grant
The foundation distributes the grant from the funds of Siiri Valli and Hanna Rothman and Elisabeth Alander. Education counsellor Siiri Valli (1919-2005) appreciated the high standard of research and education of early childhood education teachers in the early childhood education field. Valli worked extensively in early childhood education, for example, as a kindergarten teacher, the principal of Kindergarten Seminary Ebeneser, and as an inspector and director of a daycare operation in the city of Helsinki. She was active in the Early Childhood Education Teacher Union of Finland and the Ebeneser Foundation and influenced the establishment of the Kindergarten Museum.
